Here are the release information about collaborations between Sofvi and Japanese traditional crafts - to be released on January 2023.



These products were decorated by Mr. Kurihara, Executive Director of Kurihara Mokko-jo. The unprecedented products were created due to Mr. Kurihara's many years of experience in manufacturing products for various industries and the maximum use of his more than 100 years of woodworking experience and outstanding painting skills. Mr. Kurihara is also certified as a traditional craftsman of Saitama Prefecture.



Kurihara Mokko-jo, which originally manufactured only woodworking products, implemented lacquering technology, enabling integrated production from manufacturing to lacquering. In this way, Kurihara Mokko-jo has built a one-stop production line from design, design proposals, and production to shipping.



Mr. Kurihara's lacquering techniques were developed through practice during his years of training and further research. His techniques are now highly valued in many fields. The products of Kurihara Mokko-jo, which continues to pioneer new paths, have many stories and accomplishments.

Takumi Series for January 2023! A number of collaborations between Kurihara Mokko-jo (Kurihara Wood Works), which has a traditional Japanese crafting technique, and Sofvi artists &#8211; will be released at T-BASE JAPAN Ginza Gallery!

Here are the release information about collaborations between Sofvi and Japanese traditional crafts - to be released on January 2023.



These traditional artworks, decorated by Eriko Terashima of Akari Koubou, are works of "Raden" and "Foil Stamping", which was born in Kanazawa.



"Raden" (sea shell inlay) is a traditional lacquer craft technique using thinned shiny parts of shells such as Abalone, Green Turban, and Mother of Pearl.



"Foil stamping" is a typical decoration technique used for Wajima and Kanazawa lacquerware. Pure gold, platinum, and other metals are spread thinly to 1/10,000 to 1.2/10,000 millimeters for use. 97% of the domestically produced gold leaf is made in Kanazawa.

[Description] The body is covered with one of the Japanese lucky patterns, "Shippou Tsunagi", inlaid with pink Abalone shells. It is also inlaid with a "Fuku" (meaning fortune) letter in flower letters using blue Abalone shells, trimmed with gold rims. The face part, based on a Mother of Pearl Raden inlay, is decorated with blue Raden and gold leaf for the facial expression. The hands, feet, and spines are decorated with gold and platinum foil using the Foil Stamping technique.

VIRUS KING, featured in the SFX film "SFX comedy - YUZO THE BIGGEST BATTLE IN TOKYO" directed by Yoshikazu Ishii, is now available as a Sofvi figure.



The film has won many awards abroad, including the "Jury Award for Best Feature Film at the KCUFF; The Kansas City Underground Film Festival", Honorable Mention at the "BARS; Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre Film Festival Award", and the "AHITH; Another Hole In The Head Film Festival Award".



It was made with the director Ishii's passion to make the world a little brighter and to preserve SFX films' traditional filming methods.



Director Yoshikazu Ishii, who produced the film, has worked on a number of films, including:
